Democrats Win in Virginia
Terry McAuliffe beat out Ken Cuccinelli in a close race for Virginia's governor, McAullife only beat Cuccinelli by 2%. While McAuliffe outspent Cuccinelli by about 14.7 million dollars. While Cuccinelli won  most of Virginia McAuliffe won the northern suburbs of Virginia. McAuliffe greatly benefited from the electoral college being made of less and less Republicans every year.

The two candidates Terry McAuliffe and Ken Cuccinelli couldn't be on farther sides of the political spectrum. Terry McAliffe, is outspoken democrat, backed by President Obama and Biden. His opponent, Ken Cuccinelli is backed by the Tea Party, making it more difficult for him to gain the vote of the common republican. Acclaimed predictor Nate Silver,  thinks that the Terry McAulife will win saying that the Government Shutdown hit the Republicans hard making it very difficult for their candidates to get elected.

On Thursday, October 17th, 2013 Obama finally signed a bill in order to end the current government shutdown. According to economic research firms the infamous government will cost the US billions of dollars. Studies have shown that the minority part in the senate (45/55) have been blamed by the majority of the American people for the entire government shutdown, while Obama's reputation was not nearly as damaged.The government has also further divided the Republican party within itself with the moderate Republicans on one side and the Tea Party Republicans on the other. If the Republican party continues to divide the Democrats will have a great advantage. While Obama insists that, "there were no winners...,"this in some ways is very untrue. The Republicans began the government shutdown in the hopes to end the Obama's healthcare law by lowering his budget. While the budget was lowered the healthcare law still lives. All in all the government shutdown wasn't very good for either party and had the greatest impact, when it negatively effect the economy making the government shutdown a terrible occurrence for all of the US.

Shutdown:
I believe that a government shutdown is a selfish thing for the senate to do. Many of the people who work in the Senate live very comfortably, it doesn't matter to them if they lose their pay for three weeks. However, many state employees are losing a lot of money and the economy will also take a major hit. I think that the healthcare policy should not have forced the government to shutdown.
Iran:
I believe that Iran is faking friendliness for the US. I believe that they want sympathy from the rest of the world, making themselves look like the good guys. Iran wants to look like they want to be friends with the US, making it more difficult for the US to attack Iran and take their nuclear weapons without having a media disaster.
